Cattlianthe Jardin del Azuay
A floriferous hybrid of C. Valda × Ctt. Trick or Treat, combining the compact, multi-flowered habit of the Cattleya alliance with the vivid, star-shaped flower form characteristic of the Guarianthe influence. The sepals and petals are narrow, elongated, and spreading, with a tubular, funnel-shaped lip that contrasts with the open, radiating perianth segments.
- Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; tolerates higher light than many Cattleya alliance hybrids but avoid harsh direct sun at midday.
- Temperature: 60–80°F (15–27°C); an intermediate to warm grower that adapts well to stable indoor or greenhouse conditions.
- Humidity: 60–80%; moderate to high humidity promotes vigorous pseudobulb development and prolific, long-lasting blooms.
- Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow the roots to sit in standing water.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a coarse bark-based mix with good air movement around the roots to encourage strong pseudobulb development and repeat flowering. Shipped bare root and well established.
