Coryanthes MacRosea

Coryanthes MacRosea

Coryanthes MacRosea is a hybrid orchid (Crths. alborosea x Crths. macrantha) known for its unique bucket-shaped flowers and fascinating pollination process. This warm-growing epiphyte showcases one of nature's most specialized orchid-pollinator relationships.

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the leaves. East or west-facing windows with filtered light work well.
  • Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 20-26°C (68-79°F) during the day with minimal nighttime drop to mimic tropical conditions.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity levels of 70-85%. Use humidity trays, room humidifiers, or group with other tropical orchids to maintain adequate moisture.
  • Watering: Keep consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water when the growing medium begins to dry slightly. Use lukewarm, filtered water and ensure excellent drainage.

Additional Notes:

Features robust pseudobulbs with broad, pleated leaves typical of the genus. The extraordinary flowers display intricate patterns and vibrant colors, creating one of the most unique displays in the orchid world.
