Lepanthes acarina

Lepanthes acarina

A miniature epiphytic orchid from the Andean cloud forests, producing successive small flowers on wiry, zigzag ramicauls. The blooms display broadly triangular, pubescent sepals with a contrasting fuchsia lip nestled at the center.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an Intermediate grower with good tolerance for cool nights.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; mist regularly or use a humidity tray to maintain consistent moisture around the plant.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist but never waterlogged; water frequently in small amounts and ensure excellent drainage.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork bark or tree fern, or grown in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss to keep roots aerated. Ideal for terrarium or Wardian case culture. Ships bare root, well-established.
