Lepanthes eros

Lepanthes eros

A floriferous miniature species from the Andean cloud forests. It grows a single large orbicular leaf with a papillose texture and reddish midrib, producing successive racemes of small flowers with an erect triangular dorsal sepal, spreading lateral sepals, and a prominent fuchsia-magenta labellum at the center.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the broad, textured leaf.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an Intermediate grower that benefits from good air circulation and stable temperatures.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; maintain consistently high humidity — ideal for terrariums or humid intermediate setups.
  • Watering: Water frequently to keep the medium evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness, as Lepanthes roots are sensitive to dehydration.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss. Its distinctive papillose leaf and prolific blooming make it an excellent terrarium subject. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
