Lepanthes mulleriana

Lepanthes mulleriana

A richly textured miniature species native to Ecuador. It produces successive flowers with a broad triangular dorsal sepal curving forward into a hood, elongated lanceolate lateral sepals with prominent longitudinal veins pointing downward, and a densely velutinous surface across all sepals, with a small labellum and yellow column visible within the floral complex.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can damage the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 52–68°F (11–20°C); an Intermediate-Cool grower that appreciates stable temperatures and consistent air movement.
  • Humidity: 78–92%; maintain high humidity at all times — ideal for cool-intermediate terrarium setups.
  • Watering: Water frequently to keep the medium evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness, as Lepanthes roots are sensitive to dehydration.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss. Its exceptionally velvety floral texture makes it one of the most tactilely distinctive Lepanthes for terrarium culture. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
