Stanhopea Yolanda Breck

Stanhopea Yolanda Breck

A spectacular Stanhopea hybrid of Stan. Dachart × Stan. Lydia Bush, producing pendent racemes of large, waxy blooms with reflexed, heavily spotted sepals and spirally twisted petals. The inflated, globose hypochile in vivid orange-gold is the defining architectural feature — bold, sculptural, and intensely fragrant.

  • Light: 50–70% shade cloth; bright indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun which can scorch the large pseudobulbs.
  • Temperature: 58–85°F (14–29°C) — Intermediate to Warm grower. Tolerates a wide range with adequate humidity and air movement.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; good air circulation is essential. Mist regularly during warm months.
  • Watering: Water freely during active growth; reduce slightly in winter but never allow to fully dry out. Roots must remain well-oxygenated.

Additional Notes

Must be grown in an open basket or slatted container — the pendent flower spikes grow downward through the substrate and cannot bloom in a solid pot. Ships bare root and well-established, with a healthy root system ready to settle into its new home.
