A large, well-established division of this selected cultivar from the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming voluminous, multi-growth clumps with large, thick, intensely glossy ovate leaves. The pendant flowers are among the most architecturally imposing in the genus: large, strongly ribbed ellipsoid structures with dense papillose texture and a prominent lateral aperture revealing a contrasting interior — produced directly from the pseudobulb base in a striking display.
- Light: Moderate indirect light with 55–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the large, leathery foliage.
- Temperature: 58–72°F (14–22°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from consistent temperatures and good airflow.
