Oncidium reversoides

Oncidium reversoides

A slender epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing long, arching spikes with medium-sized flowers well spaced along sinuous, wiry branches. The narrow, linear-lanceolate sepals and petals bear bold, irregular basal spots and taper to sharp tips, while the compact trilobed lip features a rounded frontal lobe and a contrasting white basal callus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the slender pseudobulbs and foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–72°F (12–22°C); an intermediate to cool grower that benefits from a nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; consistent moisture supports healthy growth and reliable flowering along the wiry branching spikes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a fine bark mix with good drainage and airflow. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
